The Turin-based pest control specialist joins KSG through its Business Unit Grupo SASTI, extending the Group's reach into Italy and adding scale to one of its three growing lines of business.

KSG Gruppe has completed the acquisition of Nuova Topolin, a pest control and environmental health company headquartered in Turin, Italy. The transaction was executed through Grupo SASTI, KSG's Business Unit for Southern Europe, and represents a further step in the Group's strategy to build a leading European platform for essential environmental services.

With Nuova Topolin, KSG's Environmental Health line of business gains an established operating base in northern Italy, one of the largest and most fragmented pest control markets in Europe. The acquisition also strengthens the Group's position across the Mediterranean, complementing its existing operations in Spain and Portugal and creating a broader platform for further growth in the region.

Why Southern Europe, and why now

Environmental Health is one of the most dynamic areas of KSG's portfolio. Demand for professional pest control, disinfection and hygiene services is supported by long-term structural drivers: stricter food safety and hygiene standards, growing regulatory requirements on the use of biocides, and customers who must demonstrate compliance through audits and certifications.

Climate change is adding to this demand. Warmer temperatures and longer seasons are extending the range and activity of pests and invasive species across Southern Europe, increasing the need for prevention, monitoring and fast, specialised response.

Italy, with its large industrial base, a significant food and hospitality sector and dense urban areas, is a natural next step in KSG's Southern European expansion.

Grupo SASTI as the platform for integration

The acquisition was led by Grupo SASTI, which serves as KSG's integration platform in Southern Europe. Over recent years, the Business Unit has developed a structured approach to bringing specialised companies into the Group, covering operational best practices, commercial processes, digital customer management and brand alignment. This experience will now be applied to Nuova Topolin.

Growing with the people who built the business

For KSG, acquisitions are about people as much as market share. The Group partners with teams that share its commitment to technical excellence, safety and close customer relationships, and gives them the means to grow further.

“Nuova Topolin is exactly the kind of company we want to have in KSG: specialised, well run and trusted by its customers,” said Stefan Odenthal, CEO of KSG Gruppe. “Southern Europe is a strategic priority for our Environmental Health business, and this acquisition gives us a strong foothold in the Italian market. Together with Grupo SASTI, we will support the team in Turin to keep growing, with the strength of a European group behind them.”

Paolo Minutti, Director of Nuova Topolin, added: “Joining KSG opens a new chapter for our company. We keep what makes us different — our people, our knowledge of the territory and our relationship with customers — and we gain access to the experience, technology and resources of a group that operates across Europe. It is a great opportunity for our employees and for the customers we serve.”

A platform for further growth

The acquisition of Nuova Topolin is part of a broader pipeline of opportunities that KSG is pursuing across its three lines of business. In Environmental Health, the Group intends to keep strengthening its presence in Southern Europe through a combination of organic growth and further add-on acquisitions in attractive markets.
