KSG acquires RRU Abfluss-, Kanal- und Rohrreinigung GmbH, strengthening its position in Germany

The Chemnitz-based specialist in pipe and sewer cleaning, inspection and trenchless rehabilitation joins KSG, adding scale to the Group's Infrastructure line of business.

KSG has completed the acquisition of RRU Abfluss-, Kanal- und Rohrreinigung GmbH (“RRU”), a pipe and sewer services company headquartered in Chemnitz, Germany. The transaction strengthens KSG's market position in Germany and represents a further step in the Group's strategy to build a leading European platform for essential infrastructure services.

Founded in 1990, RRU brings more than three decades of experience in the cleaning, inspection, leak testing and trenchless rehabilitation of pipes, sewers and structures. With locations in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, KSG is one of the leading providers of sewer services and industrial cleaning in Europe.

Why sewer rehabilitation and Germany, and why now

Sewer and pipe networks are among the most critical assets of any city or industrial site. Many of them were built decades ago and are reaching the end of their service life, while stricter environmental regulation requires operators to regularly inspect them and prove they are watertight.

Trenchless rehabilitation allows these networks to be repaired and renewed without excavation, reducing costs, disruption to traffic and residents, and environmental impact. Together with cleaning, inspection and leak testing, it forms a complete service offering throughout the life cycle of the network.

Germany, with one of the largest sewer networks in Europe and a significant need for rehabilitation, is a key market for KSG's continued growth.

RRU's technical know-how, experienced team and long-standing customer relationships in Saxony complement KSG's existing operations in Germany. The combination extends the Group's regional coverage and creates opportunities to share expertise, equipment and best practices across the Group.
